Technician mobile app review

A mobile app that looked clean in a conference room often fails on a rooftop in Petaling Jaya or in a basement plant room with no signal. This review follows real jobs from accept to close, on the device the crew actually carries.

4–6 working days

We ride with technicians for complete jobs, not selected showpieces. We note every extra tap, every field they skip, every photo that never uploads, and every time they keep a paper note because the form will not accept what happened on site.

Offline behaviour is tested as it is used: lifts, car parks, hillside bungalows, and industrial parks at the edge of coverage. We also check whether completion codes, parts used, and customer signatures survive a mid-job crash or a battery swap.

The report is written for operations and for the people who own the app configuration. It names screens, fields, and failure points. It does not recommend a new platform unless the current one cannot be made honest.

What the engagement includes

  • Ride-alongs on a sample of job types you actually run
  • Offline, photo, and signature path testing
  • Form and completion-code review with technicians
  • Prioritised change list for the mobile configuration
